Scope of ERINHA

ERINHA-AISBL (European Research Infrastructure on Highly Pathogenic Agents) is a pan-European Research Infrastructure (RI) dedicated to the study of high-consequence pathogens of Risk Group 4 (RG4). It is a distributed RI that brings together leading European Bio-safety level 4 (BSL4) facilities and national research institutes with longstanding experience of research in this field, including preclinical developments. Such a coordinated approach is vital in a context marked by frequent globalization of infectious disease with high risks for public health, society and the economy.

The 2 preparatory phases (ERINHA and ERINHA2 respectively) have been funded by the FP7 and H2020 programmes. Since ERINHA has been set up as an “Association Internationale Sans But Lucratif” (AISBL) by a Belgian Royal Decree it is funded through membership fees.
