Dr. Nina Gobat is a senior post-doctoral researcher at the University of Oxford with a background in health and behavioural sciences. As part of the Platform foR European Preparedness Against (Re-)emerging Epidemics (PREPARE), Dr. Gobat has worked on addressing ethical, administrative, regulatory and logistical barriers that stand in the way of clinical research being delivered during infectious disease outbreaks. She also works on outbreak response across the PREPARE consortium. She is currently working on ECRAID-Plan, led by Professor Herman Goossens and Professor Marc Bonten. Prior to her involvement in these initiatives, Dr. Gobat’s research focused on the development and evaluation of complex interventions in public health and healthcare settings. She has over 15 years experience in clinical, supervisory and health service development roles working in South Africa and the UK. She currently chairs the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) social science research group.
