STRIDE-CAP Pilot Study

The STRIDE-CAP Pilot Study proceeded the STRIDE-CAP Full Study and aimed to establish the feasibility and methodological framework for the subsequent international, observational test-negative design (TND) case-control study. 

Operations and Site Selection

Ecraid assumed responsibility for the pilot study's operational management in Europe and the strategic selection of European study sites. The CLIN-Net team, a component of Ecraid, successfully identified and selected 21 sites across four European nations: Spain, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. 

The projected participant recruitment period spanned from April to September 2025, necessitating a rapid study execution, which Ecraid's warm-base network was ideally positioned to provide.

Sponsor and CRO

Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC served as the financial sponsor and study sponsor within the European Union.

IQVIA functioned as the global Contract Research Organisation (CRO) overseeing the study's implementation.

STRIDE-CAP Full Study

The STRIDE-CAP Full Study will evaluate the vaccine effectiveness of an adult-specific pneumococcal conjugate vaccine within a real-world context.
